The Continental” was the first song to win an Oscar for Best Original Song, in the movie “The Gay Divorcee,” back in 1935.

This is a video of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers dancing to the tune in the movie. They are wonderful together.

Enjoy.

  1. I just love them! So cheerful. And for hot, you can’t beat Gregory Peck.
    I am old.

I too love, love, love them. Beautiful dancing, gorgeous singing and songs. All so perfect. Thank you.

  3. V.E.G. says:

Ginger Rogers is the cousin of George Washington and also (spectulatively) West Ford.
